Review of It (2017) by Shawn B — 06 Sep 2017
Kind of like a horror version of The Goonies, IT's probably one of the most faithful Stephen King book to film adaptations (it's also one of the few King novels I've actually read). A lot of those little things from the book, which were absent from the miniseries, are there as well as satisfying updates from its 30-years-forward flashback (1959 to 1989).
I'm probably one of the more cynical filmgoers, with no patience fo demons, possessions, ghosts or supernatural entities but Bill Skarsgard delivers a delightfully terrifying Pennywise. I've got to say that as a whole, I'm very happy with what we got, and maybe, just maybe, we can get that Chapter Two soon and, hopefully, more devoted King adaptations.
By far, the best horror movie of the year.
