Not the scariest movie you'll see, but a terrific movie nonetheless. This is due to the great performances of the child actors and Skarsgard's portrayal of Pennywise. There are some tonal shifts that are a little jarring at times going back and forth from the kids upbeat and comedic banter back to Pennywise's dread over the town.
This movie invests in character development and storytelling and it pays off. You care about each of these kids fears and motivations all while being fascinated by Pennywise and the mystery that surrounds "IT".
I will go see this movie again.
