Review of It (2017) by Mary A — 07 Sep 2017
It is a thrilling and heartfelt coming of age horror movie based on the Stephen King novel, It. I surprisingly laughed a lot for It is filled with lots of jokes and fun with The Losers, the main group of kids.
I found the acting of the child actors to be very compelling, especially the main boy Bill and the main girl Beverly. Their actors were excellent and delivered their lines flawlessly. The cinematography is gorgeous and so refreshing to see.
Bill Skarsgard was also a blast as a very menacing and yet fun Pennywise the Dancing Clown aka IT. Fantastic film and my personal favorite of 2017 thus far. I would put it up top, then Logan, Valerian, Wonder Woman, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
2 as follows. I have not seen The Beguiled yet, but I hear it's great too. I think most members of the audience will love It. They will laugh, and if they are like the people in my theater, they'll jump and scream throughout! It is a horrifying spectacle on the horrors of man.
