Review of Isle of Dogs (2018) by Ryan L — 13 Apr 2018
My hopes were fairly high for this after Fantastic Mr. Fox and Grand Budapest Hotel and I have to say Anderson delivers in spades here. The voice cast is outstanding and the story progression is fun. Of course, it is choke full of film references and has spectacular framing, but the story is also nice and concise.
My one quibble would be with the underdeveloped villain, but it was still satisfying. Another magnificent score by Alexandre Desplat helps elevate the film for me.
