Review of Isle of Dogs (2018) by Adam S — 16 Sep 2018
Anderson's signature quirkiness, charming characters, and beautiful stop-motion are all present, but you can't ignore the looming blemish of appropriation from start to finish. It may be the only thing keeping it from being a classic, which is a bummer but hey.
..don't "other" Asian people or be a cultural tourist and we won't have this problem. Ditch the white savior, too.
