Review of Irreversible (2002) by Jw M — 21 Jun 2010
(possible spoiler here: but I'm trying not to).
An extremely tough film to watch. Two horrific scenes where every effort is made to make you feel sick with every ounce of pain (and it succeeds). A film that unfortunately will stick with me for quite some time to come. Also an extremely nasty film with the reverse story telling constantly changing your opinion as to who's the most horrible person and what is actually worse: carrying out some nasty deed or getting away with it. Whichever answer you choose, it continues to make you feel bad for choosing it.
What I hated was the shaky/twisting camera work at the start, very annoying.
Ticks off another box on my "12 most disturbing films to see" list and to be honest, the further I get through the list, the less I want to continue.
