Review of Irreversible (2002) by Samuel K — 19 Aug 2010
Never have I felt so repulsed by a film and a filmmaker, or so strongly felt that what I was watching was complete filth; utterly unredeemable. ...and then have the garbage slowly be redeemed over the course of the film into something meaningful, even something beautiful.
It's a troubling, but worthwhile piece of cinema, and I'm mighty glad that I avoided seeing it until I was an emotionally stable adult.
