Review of Irreversible (2002) by Dodi D — 11 Sep 2010
A film that makes you dizzy in such sophisticated camera style, and leaves you puking in disgust. Disturbing was the scene inside the suffocating fag bar, after the next scene we realized that it is told in reverse chronological order, Memento style.
Gaspar Noe's incredible style of delivering a simple story is effective in making it more real and arresting. The infamous continuous shot of the rape scene in the tunnel is one brilliant moment in cinema.
The film starts with the revenge murder and ends with a hope, thus making the film more tragic.
