Review of Irreversible (2002) by Sam G — 28 Jan 2011
One of the most affecting films I have ever seen. Its violence will definitely turn some people off, but how are you supposed to (and why would you attempt to?) soften up the horrors of rape. Vincent Cassel (most recently in Black Swan) is excellent in this tale of revenge and murder.
Definitely one to preview alone before you see it wit other people though. Horrifying and disturbing on almost every level imaginable. From subject matter to editing to camera aesthetics, this film is quite an experience.
