Review of Irreversible (2002) by Brad A — 12 Jun 2011
Irreversible is one of those movies I can go on and on and on about. The first time I saw a clip from it in the gay bar I honestly thought I was watching a snuff film. It's easily one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen in my life.
The rape scene in this movie is so realistic. It goes on for what seems forever. I've never seen anything like it. You just keep begging it to end.
Basically Irreversible is like Momento, where every scene after played is the actually the scene BEFORE the one you just saw. So the movie is played in reverse order. On top of that it's in another language. On top of that, there's a key turning point in the movie and the drag queen is talking in yet another language that's not subtitled. So that makes this movie challenging to consume.
I love this film.
