Review of Irreversible (2002) by Jim B — 29 Sep 2011
As Mr. Desson Thompson quotes: "fails because...of intellectually one-dimensional grounds, which make the violence at the end feel even worse".I say that especially because of intellectuall one-dimensional shots (I remind that in cinema history only Antonioni and Hitchcock managed to pull that stunt, with commercial failure), which, after all, make the violence at the end feel even worse, the theme:"Les Temps Detruit Tout" finds one.
..way of becoming an overwhelming thesis about that fact. The film ending which is the start of the story is agreeable happy so Hollywood can sleep at ease (ok this was a bad dream...).As the chorus in Oedipo Rei quotes never say about a man that is lucky, before seeing him take his final breath.
