Review of Irreversible (2002) by Jim S — 16 Jan 2015

Extremely brutal film, to the point where I had to look away at times. Yet somehow I can recommend it over Clockwork Orange, which was overwhelming in its negativity. Maybe it's how the filmmaker plunges us into terrible darkness and despair, while bringing us as an audience into light by showing the story in reverse.

I'm sure many people would have seen this movie very, very differently if it was shown in chronological order.
