Review of Irreversible (2002) by Connor S — 20 Apr 2014
Irreversible has an interesting premise: watching a movie in reverse, hence the name (I will say that I haven't seen Memento, and I have heard that it's style is very similar to this). Irreversible is also a very well-shot film, which shows that the director knows what he is doing.
But Irreversible is also another movie that is hard to watch, with it's infamous 10-minute rape scene. I had to stop watching this movie multiple times, especially in the beginning. The latter half of the movie isn't as bad, but it's still isn't easy to watch.
Containing a bunch of nudity, swearing, and some very violent scenes, nothing about Irreversible is nice, but films don't have to be nice. If you have the strength to watch this, you will see a truly great film, but I imagine it is to intense for most people.
