Review of Irrational Man (2015) by Chris F — 31 Jan 2016

Irrational Man was a genuine surprise from Woody Allen. After the mediocre Magic in the Moonlight, I wasn't expecting much from the film. Add in negative reviews for this, I expected to dislike this movie a lot.

But I actually liked it a lot. I really liked the cast. Joaquin Phoenix was great in the lead role. Emma Stone and Parker Posey were good too. I enjoyed the script a lot from Woody Allen. I enjoyed the dialogue.

I liked the storyline and the mystery of the film. I liked the last minute twist it it. The Phoenix-Stone romance was a little creepy at times, like Allen's last film. But this film, while scattershot at times, brings a good,dark mystery to the table.

This was a very pleasant surprise.
