Review of Ironweed (1987) by Jack G — 03 Mar 2008
Ranks with Requiem for a Dream, United 93, and the most excrutiating of Bergman as one of the bleakest films ever made. That it also features scenes with Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep, AND Tom Waits (criminally neglected at the 87 Oscars) all at once is a great feat unto itself.
Make sure you have tissues handy at the end.
