Review of Ironclad (2011) by Renee M — 25 Jul 2011
Medieval action flick has a Templar knight and a small group of fighting men holding the key strategic castle of Rochester against a vengeful King John and his army of Danish mercenaries. A good cast, solid direction and some jaw droppingly brutal battle sequences make this a good bet for fans of historically based action films like Braveheart, 300 and Centurion.
And the historical accuracy does takes a back seat to the carnage but, this isn't the History Channel, it's a movie... and you don't watch a movie like Ironclad for a history lesson anyway.
Sure it has it's flaws but, they are conveniently buried under all the limbs and blood.
