Review of Iron Man 3 (2013) by Logan K — 06 Jan 2015
The first movie was my favorite in this trilogy. Unfortunately this has all the shortcomings of current day hollywood. The story felt weak to me. Ben Kingsley's portrayal of the Mandarin was quite lame.
This was entertaining. I have watched it twice so far. I may see it again some day, but it really is missing something. I'd rather a movie like this had been told more like Robocop. Dark, realistic, gritty, bloody and with a believable human element.
I really liked some of the action sequences from the standpoint of being stunning visuals, but the human element is missing in this. It has no heart and soul. RDJ is great as always. He's not the problem.
I found the panic attacks unconvincing. Gwyneth's performance was lackluster. Don Cheadle did a good job. This movie was fun but does not deserve 4 stars. I wish I didn't pay 20 bucks for it on iTunes.
Joke's on me. Just get the DVD from N-etflix!
