Iron Man 3 really does go full circle with the franchise in many ways. The ten rings "terrorist" group. The flashback scene to 99' where we get to see a quick glimpse of Yenson before he met his end in the original 'Iron Man'.

And the prospect that if Tony loses everything and all his suits, there is one thing they can never take away from him. He IS "Iron Man". The script is very well crafted and Black proves himself to have great promise in the genre.

The film was an ingenious continuation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It does well to draw off the events of 'Avengers' and show how those events have affected the characters and how they react in their own worlds so to speak.

Tony has been deeply changed by the events in New York and has proven he's come a long way from the selfish playboy he used to be. Any bit of selfishness he had left, left him when he saved the city in 'Avengers'.

We now see how he struggles with the post traumatic stress of those events and how he feels so seemingly small in a universe that is so vast. He's just "a man in a can". I loved how they took away all his toys and put him in a corner and showed just how intellectual and ingenious Tony Stark really is.

The character development is exceptionally off the scales in this film, not only for Tony but Rhodey, Pepper, and even Happy as well. The whole movie was just well done, the characters were developed brilliantly, the script was full of surprises and twists, the jokes were witty and funny, and the action.

Oh sweet lord the action. The action scenes were simply stunning and brilliant. The take on the character of the Mandarin was very.... different and was disappointing to some extent. Although after some thought I realize that it does work toward the coherency of the film as a whole.

It was an interesting conglomeration of different story arcs from the comics and ultimately worked out incredibly well. Easily the strongest of the three and shows just how far these characters have come.

Tony has proven he is a superhero and has finally come to terms and put to rest the question that has secretly haunted him, does the man make the suit or the suit make the man? Iron Man 3 answers strongly that 'the man makes the suit'.

The "clean slate protocol" in the conclusion of this film caused many people to question the continuation of Tony's story but if you are a true comic book fan you realize how the ending, which was a well crafted finale to close the trilogy, has great prospects for the future of Iron Man and his story arc.

It also gives promise for the future of the Cinematic Universe. To sum it all up. A brilliant, exceptionally crafted film. Imaginative, dark, but also filled with hope and promise. It will leave you waiting and wanting more from the Cinematic Universe, which we will receive after the one sentence promise that appeared on the screen after the credits "Tony Stark will return".
