Review of Iron Man (2008) by Shaun B — 04 Nov 2018

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios brings us the Marvel Universe that we have been waiting for (The Marvel Cinematic Universe). Jon Favreau directs this brilliant and one of the best MCU movies which starts Robert Downey. Jr as the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, Tony Stark. The films plot is when Tony Stark is kidnapped by terrorists called the Ten Rings who want him to build them a killer missile and then they will set him free. But instead him build a suit called Iron Man that helps him free himself from the terrorists.

Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard co-star.

The main protagonist is played by Jeff Bridges who is called Obadiah Stane. Obadiah Stane builds his own Iron Man suit by stealing Tony's arc reactor so he is able to power it with the help of the ten rings who find parts of his suit in the desert and start to build their own that Obadiah Stane steals.

Terrence Howard plays Tony best friend Lieutenant Col. James Rhodes and Gwyneth Paltrow plays Tony's assistant Pepper Potts.

Jon Favreau thought this film wouldn't turn out terrible but it turned out brilliant and brought us the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we have today. If this film wouldn't of work we wouldn't have a MCU.

The post credit scene at the end of Iron Man is truly the best post credit scene in a Marvel movie because it introduced Nick Fury and said that there would be a Marvel Universe which blew everyone away.

Iron Man truly redeemed superhero movies because before 2008 superhero movies were an absolute flop but 2008 turn that around and showed us that superhero can be actually be really good movies ( e.g. The Dark Knight which also came out in 2008).

Iron Man has gorgeous SFX (an Oscar nominee) and brilliant sound editing (also an Oscar nominee) and has brilliant acting and has Robert Downey Jr. best role that he has performed in the MCU.

Iron man is one of my favourite Marvel Movies I don't have any problems with it.
