The problem with Iron Man 2 isn't the cast, they're fantastic, and it isn't the direction, Favreau is just as on point as the first, it's the overstuffed script. The film suffers from something I call Iron Man 2 Syndrome, there's so much going on in the movie, the main Whiplash plot, a slight branch off from that with Justin Hammer's plot, Tony's sickness, and the introduction of S.
H.I.E.L.D. characters to set up The Avengers, that it just feels too convoluted to be as good as the first.
