It is a fun movie that is highly self aware of its own limitations. Downey plays the charismatic character with flair and the supporting cast adds the needed elements around him. As far as the action and creativity, the film is lacking.
It creates decent action but it never actually ups the ante to arrive at a climactic point. It goes through the motions with its own entertaining twists on the hero genre. Great popcorn flick to pass the time.
