Review of Iron Man (1951) by Julio S — 03 Dec 2015
Growing up I honestly never knew anything about Ironman. I knew he existed and that he was a superhero from comic books, but that was the extent. I always enjoyed Batman more than any other hero as a kid.
So I went into watching Ironman not knowing anything at all about the character. After a long battle with drug addiction Robert Downey finally proves he can be a reliable leading man. This film is really a lot of fun to watch, even after multiple viewings.
I really enjoyed the backstory of him creating the suit as he was being held prisoner in the middle east. I just found it really interesting, and it actually ends up being my favorite part about the entire movie.
Jeff Bridges is pretty good as he usually is as the villain in the movie and Gwyneth Paltrow is mediocre as usual, not that it should have been a tough role for her. But overall I surely give Ironman two thumbs up as probably being my favorite comic book movie after the films in the Dark Knight Trilogy.
I recommend it because you can enjoy it by yourself or even with your kids.
