Review of Iraq in Fragments (2006) by Nephi H — 21 Jul 2007
A few things stand out with IRAQ IN FRAGMENTS. Firstly, what a brilliant on-the-street insight to regualr Iraqis' perspectives we are witnessing. News reports, magazine articles, and lesser documentaries do not typically capture the feeling of Iraqi life the way James Longley captures here.
It's a fantastic insight. And secondly, the film incorporates some beautiful footage, haunting scoring, and creative editing into this documentary. The result is a personal-feeling and 'big' documentary with a very clear sense of being more than a 'just' a documentary.
