Review of Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers (2006) by Gimena S — 07 Jan 2008
Fantastic movie. The assumption is that oil is the main motivator for US interest in the middle east; this film puts things into perspective as it explains the privatization of this war and the devastation it is causing across the board; it would make a great double feature with Why We Fight, although you may want to slit your wrists by the end of the night.
The book 'The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy' (I haven't read it yet), but I understand that the authors postulate that Americas involvement in the middle east has more to do with the Israel Lobby than oil.
Oil is just an added bonus. Very controversial book as anybody who questions the subject is either accused of anti-semitism or of being a self-hating jew. I'll do a book review after I read it.
