Review of Ira & Abby (2006) by Jennifer C — 13 Dec 2008
One of the very nice things about netflix, is that you end of watching movies that you'd probably had missed in the movie rental stores, and sometimes you run across an unexpected surprise. I have to admit that I watched this after the horrible "wedding daze" with Jason Briggs as it fell in the same genre: Two strangers get married within hours of meeting each other.
What I found was a fairly enjoyable film, with enough quirkiness to keep my interest, enough twists to keep me guessing, and most importantly the exploration of my favorite subject: Love. The swirling whirlwind of this film was fun and painful to watch, with just the right smattering of dissonance between the main characters to make the story work.
Overall a good movie for a cold north dakota evening...
