Plot: Kung - Fu killer himself Donnie Yen reteams with bad ass director Wilson Yip for Ip Man 3 !

Review:

Fans of old school Kung Fu films, will love the solid, joint snapping, action, and overall bad to the bone, amazing movie Ip Man 3 !

This is one of the best Kung Fu / action movies that I've seen in a couple of years. I love the first two Ip Man films, and I love this film as well. In this film, we have the returning star himself Master Ip, played by Donnie Yen (Iron Monkey, upcoming Star Wars: Rouge One). I believe that Donnie Yen is officially an action Icon. They can put him in more films, in the Expendables, etc. and I would love it.

Ip Man 3 has some of the most beautiful scenery, sets, cinematography, and action choreography I've seen in a long time. Everything looks polished, clean, and like an interesting time, and world to be in. Director Wilson Yip, strives to mix three plots into one story, and while some directors, and writers would have a hard time balancing this act. I believe Wilson Yip, does it well. I also thought it was cool to see Mike Tyson (The Hangover) in this as well. Mike Tyson plays a bad ass boxing American business man. If I remember correctly, Ip Man 2 actually introduced boxing v.s. Kung fu. So it was nice to see that style continue in the third entry.

My only small piece of criticism is we get typical bad guys. Typical meaning, I wear sunglasses, smoke cigarettes, carry a knife, have a slick back hair style, and leather jacket. Yet again, it did take place in the late fifties. I was a little confused on why a British police officer, was in the mix with Mike Tyson. Also, out of the last two Ip Man movies, I do find this to be the weakest story.

So these are my final Bitchin' Buddha thoughts on Ip Man 3. The action choreography is brilliant, it is fun, a nice looking film, and I would recommend it, to anyone who loves a good action and Kung fu film. I wouldn't mind seeing another collaboration of Donnie Yen and Wilson Yip. They could be the new John Woo and Chiw Yun-Fat, if everything continues to go smoothly. I believe Ip Man 3 earns a...

4/5!
