Review of Ip Man (2008) by Tunji A — 22 Jul 2011
This movie just came along and took me by surprise, I thought I had seen some awesome martial arts movies but this one raised the bar in the martial arts/action genre. Ip man is based on the true story of the Martial Arts master who trained Bruce Lee, taking place in China during the end of the 1800s.
With his story similar to Huo Yuan Jia, played by Jet Li in Fearless, Ip man lives in a time when Japan invaded China and demorailzed it's people. So he uses his martial arts skills to give the people hope and unity.
Awesome action story with a healthy dose of Chinese history.
