Review of Ip Man (2008) by Arun P — 09 Oct 2011
The film starts quite slow, but hang on, because it will get much better. The kung fu scenes are very realistic and feel better than the tricks in other "acclaimed" Chinese movies that managed to get to the West. It also illustrates the dynamics between the Japanese and the Chinese during the war in a painful way that reminds you of the bad things that comes out of invasions and wars.
If you don't know anything about Chinese history...well, Ip Man taught Bruce Lee kung fu. He was good. Nuf said.
