Review of Ip Man (2008) by Bill B — 15 Feb 2012
Finally got around to giving this one a look, and it's every bit as great as my online buddies have promised. I am really loving that Donnie Yen is cranking out such great films in recent years since Jet Li seems to be moving away from the action genre in the capacity that I was accustomed to seeing him.
A humble man eventually grows to fame and will eventually train Bruce Lee, but here we have his beginnings amid Japanese occupation, which makes for a fairly predictable (if thoroughly enjoyable) bit of chest beating in honor of the Chinese people.
Recommended.
