It is pretty unoriginal, has all the ticks in it which every sports film thinks it needs, rags to riches, the bad game, the inspired speech and the moment of glory are all there in full force. Yet, I really enjoyed it, Whalberg carries the film well, Kinnear is great if abit underused.

Yes the film adds nothing new to this genre, but what it does do, is showcase it really well. the matches if abit short are filmed and choreographed really well, so even if your not sure the rules, you can follow whats going on easy enough.

you really feel for Whalbergs character and feel sadness when he does, and encourage him when he fights to pick himself up! overall a great feel good film!
