Review of Invictus (2009) by Paul S — 21 Sep 2011
A heart-warming movie that could certainly have been better made, but still a great watch. I think Damon did a good job portraying Pienaar. Freeman was not the ideal candidate for Mandela but he was still good.
As a rugby union fan, it's great not just for the special circumstances of the win, but because it was the last World Cup final of the amateur era. You can't say that they didn't play with heart.
Rugby players were unpaid at that time. I think this is lost on people who don't know anything about rugby.
