Review of Invictus (2009) by Justin S — 20 Jun 2011
Watch this once and you might just feel more interested in watching the brutal sport that is rugby, especially after the ending. If you saw stadium's crowd of people (and more) make a race-blind embrace [a good thing] of the glory of South African rugby, why wouldn't you feel like looking more into rugby yourself?
Succeeds for the most part, because Eastwood effectively dramatizes the history in a way that definitely allows for one enjoyable viewing. For some reason, however, I can't see myself watching it again the whole way through. At least not for a while.
