Critics be damned, I really liked this movie! I suppose because I look at it from a political perspective, and while the actual story seems unlikely, it does portray Nelson Mandela as the truly inspirational man that he is.
This is what I love the most about the movie, I believe - his story, his role as president alongside his humbling humanity. The end of apartheid was such a huge deal, and while racial conflicts continue to be an issue, I think the film also did a good job of showing how in South Africa, tensions go both ways.
