Review of Invictus (2009) by Max E — 27 May 2012
On re-watch, this is high on my list of favourite sports movies. Similar themes to Remember the Titans, also a favourite, one could argue that only the sport and scale changed. The fact is that this is a really enjoyable film, with great performances, accents, music, sound, with a message that's perhaps unoriginal, but relevant.
Its shift of focus between the first and second half of the film could be a little strange, along with main character. Essentially an engaging film with perhaps a couple of elements missing for it to score higher.
