Watching this post-Long Walk to Freedom it is difficult to take Freeman's portrayal of Mandela overly seriously. Of course he has the demeanor and mannerisms down but his wavering vocal performance is nowhere near as assured as that of Idris Elba recently.
Aside from those qualms, this is a serviceable if unremarkable account of the South African rugby team's campaign during the 1995 world cup.
