Review of Inversion (2016) by Jr G — 01 Oct 2016
Iran is not the only culture in which the care for an elderly, ailing parent tends to be left to the unmarried sister, whose chances for a career and for founding a family of her own diminish in the process.
Inversion questions the assumptions that help married siblings justify the unequal distribution of the burden of care. It shows how people deceive themselves and others in justifying their self-serving behaviour.
A compelling performance by a brilliant cast, whose portrayal is both sensitive and authentic.
