This is one movie that scared the hell out of me when I saw it on ABC in 1979-80. Even though it was editied for television, it was really creepy.
The idea of going to sleep and having one of those creepy pods take over was enough to keep me awake way past my bedtime. Granted everyone always says the original 1956 version is better, but as a remake this one is excellent. Brooke Adams and Donald Sutherland were really good together and Veronica Cartwright and Jeff Goldblum were terrific as well. I have never been in a mud bath, and after seeing this movie I know I never will.
This is one movie that stands the test of time, it is just as creepy today as it was in the 70's!
