Review of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) by Rebecca R — 22 Nov 2012

A remake of the old Sci-fi classic, Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The 1956 version was a terrific film, it had everything to make a top notch Sci-fi film, so of course that's going to be a hard movie to remake, but they did and did they do it well? Yes, they did.

This 1978 version, was not only well directed, but also really well acted. Donald Sutherland plays the lead role and no surprise at all, he was great. He plays the role very well and I thought the character himself was really interesting.

Leonard Nimoy also played in this movie and again no surprise here, he was also great, actually he was more then great, he was amazing. As for the other cast members, they all did there parts pretty well, nothing top notch, but they were all still good.

Now for the story in this one, I thought it was done pretty good and the reason why that is, is because the story took a different approach from the original film. Yes, this movie has some what the same premise as the original movie, but also at the same time this movie gives us different twists and different characters, which was good.

Also, speaking of twists this movie had a great twist at the very end. I'm not going to spoil the twist, but I gotta say, it was really dark and really unexpected. So yeah, all in all, this movie was very good, no it's not better then the original, but it's a well made Sci-fi film, that a lot of people can enjoy.
