Review of Invaders from Mars (1953) by Jean-Francois V — 03 Jun 2008
This totally implausible film about an alien invasion has a few fine moments, especially in its first part, but it degenerates into a series of stock shots that glorify the American military. However, I am particularly grateful to this film for having been a distant inspiration for "Phantasm".
Indeed, it was Coscarelli's praise that led me to watch it in the first place.
