Review of Intruders (2011) by John W — 09 Sep 2012
Visually, the film is beautiful. Great use of shadows, light and inanimate objects to pull us in. Clive Owen was a bit hard to believe as the lead character (although he does a good job, the issue is related to backstory, not his ability).
The movie suffers from muddy storytelling and while it keeps the twist hidden, it makes for a less than satisfying ending that almost becomes frustrating in it's lack of narrative completion. Points for a great premise and the performances of Clive Owen and Ella Purnell (Mia), unfortunately, not enough to overlook the other shortcomings.
