Review of Intolerable Cruelty (2003) by Tamara E — 26 Apr 2008
This was pretty far-fetched. Zeta-Jones and Clooney complemented each other well. Beginning seemd like the cover of the mellony collie Smashing Pumpkins cover cd. A gold digger in Jones is out for guys money in a quick marriage and divorce.
She ends up losing a divorce court battle to Clooney who represents a guy who cheated on her but the kicker was Jones never really was in love with the guy. Jones plans revenge against Clooney with another fake marriage.
Clooney falls madly in love with her. She gets a divorce and marries Clooney and plans to divorce him to get his assets but she falls in love with him. The guy who Clooney won the court battle with dies of a heart attack and forgot to change his will, so Jones and Clooney inherit his assets.
During the planned divorce both hire the same hitman to kill each other, who ends up killing himself. During preliminary divorce court meeting, Jones and Clooney get back together. A definite far-fetched chick flick you might want to see.
