You can always pinpoint a classic genre the Coens are going for. Whether it's film noir (often their best), screwball comedy (hit and miss. Hit: Raising Arizona, Miss: The Ladykillers) or western (True Grit, obviously, and of course their ultimate masterpiece, the neo-Western No Country For Old Men).

From trailers and previews you cannot tell what they're going for with Intolerable Cruelty, but it doesn't take long from watching the film they're going for a fun 1950's and 60's bedroom romp.

The previews do this film zero justice; in fact is doesn't even seem like a Coen movie until you actually watch it. It's very funny and VERY Coen.
