Review of Into the Woods (2014) by Brett B — 30 May 2015
Enjoyable songs, albeit so Sondheim I thought I was watching Sweeney Todd again in parts. The stories cleverly mixed, and then when it looked all over with a happy ending, it suddenly spun off into some turgid nonsense.
The deaths were blink and you miss them and inexplicably no one seemed to care. James Corden was just annoying throughout. The kids and Meryl Streep stole the film. This could have been executed a lot better.
