4-stars, and not just because it's a movie adaptation of a musical that turned out better than Fame. This one came together quite nicely. Rather than distracting from the often-parallel scenes, the way events were stitched together kept things together.
Right. Whatever. I liked it. I'd watch it again periodically, but I wouldn't leave it on loop over a long weekend, so 4-stars.
