Ambitious, but ultimately confused attempt to meld many fairy tales into a single story. Far too many characters are introduced then suddenly discarded. The main characters are not emotionally convincing.
This isn't a comment on the actors' efforts. It's acted well enough mostly, but the pacing is so uneven and jarring that they don't have the time to convey any genuine emotion.
