INTO THE WOODS lacks a concrete conception to make it really jump off the screen. The cast is perfect, the costumes and set design quire wonderful, but director Rob Marshall shoots the entire film in medium shot as if directed for television.
He has no real foundation to work from which is truly unfortunate since he as amassed such talent.
