Despite Into the Woods having a plot of imperfections and an unnecessary extra hour, this movie is still everything you loved about fairy tales as a child. You didn't care about the extraordinary style and you didn't care about how bogus the stories were.

Seeing all of these folklore legends in one film, singing catchy songs and almost never getting out of trouble, was definitely something enjoyable that did bring up an unexpected sense of nostalgia. Dion Beebe's cinematography, however, was my favorite aspect of the film.

His eye for color and movement is superb, and should be appreciated more than he has been in the past. Yes, he has a deserved Oscar for Memoirs of a Geisha, but I think he deserves recognition for more than just that film and Chicago (another musical collaboration with director, Rob Marshall).
