Review of Into the Woods (2014) by Jemma P — 22 Mar 2015
The Good:
The cast are awesome, especially Chris Pine and Meryl Streep. The songs are amazing, and well performed. The grimmness of the story is a nice contrast to the fairy tale beauty of Disney's animated classics.
The Not-so-Good:
It's seriously lacking in heart, which is surprising considering this is a Disney movie. The excitement drags off as the movie goes, such a strange thing to happen for a musical. Several scenes feel 'small', unlike a big live action movie but feels more like a footage from a stage performance.
