Review of Into the Woods (1991) by William A — 27 Jun 2010
While not the greatest Sondheim musical it is still a great Sondheim musical. Great singing, minimalistic sets, and great characters (thanks to writer and actors alike) make this a strong musical. The biggest negative to it is the length, but it uses the whole time for story telling, character development and song.
Better yet, they split the play into two sections with an intermission. Most characters get what's coming to them.
