Review of Into the Wild (2007) by Chris C — 09 Feb 2012
Fantastic film about the true story of Chris McCandless who sold everything he owned and destroyed all his ID in order to go hiking across America to Alaska where he intended to live off the land just him and nothing else. Really could relate to the sense of wanting to just explore the world and get away from the politics and social expectations of the world. Unfortunately his quest is doomed to failure and it ends very tragically but it's an amazing story and I really enjoyed the film. Also seems Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) did most if not all the music for the film.
After doing some research afterwards online (there's youtube videos that visit some of the scenes from his journey) it seems the film is a little inaccurate in places as no one truely knows exactly what happened to him throughout his journey, they just put the pieces together from his diary that was found. But even still its an amazing story. Highly recommended.
